Before each trip, you think whether you will see or experience something unexpectedly pleasant and unforgettable. And yes, it happened on this trip - I saw the eruption of the Shiveluch volcano. It is the northernmost active volcano in Kamchatka and one of the largest in Kamchatka. I also really wanted to get to the Dead Forest of Kamchatka. I visited both it and the lava cave.

In September 2020 one of the most long-awaited dreams came true - I visited Altai. The scale and beauty of Gorny Altai is difficult to convey in words. But photography is capable of that! Take a look and feast your eyes upon the landscapes of Kosh Agach, Kuraiskaya steppe, North Chuisky ridge, Aktru valley.

Very short trip to Teriberka. Only three days, including the round trip from Moscow. It was in November and Murmansk was already in snow. It was cold but dry in Teriberka. And once again the dream came to life. The second night in, the Northern Lights came on, not that bright, but just enough to get adrenaline rush and get exhilarated!

White Sands is another wish come true. It happened in March 2020 just before borders got closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. White Sands National Park gets its name from the color of the sand, which is made up of gypsum chips. The dunes in this part of the Chihuahua Desert are difficult to distinguish from the snowdrifts. This five-day trip included not only the White Sands of New Mexico, but also Saguaro National Park and Picacho Peak State Park in Arizona with blooming poppies. Among the poppies are the giant Saguaro cacti. It turned out to be a truly spring trip.

Cuba ... Beautiful distant Cuba! When I flew to Havana, a Cuban woman was sitting next to me on the plane. She lives in Russia for many years, knows Russian well. She has not been home for about two years, so all the talk was about Cuba - where to visit, what to see. Cuba amazed me with its colors, people, delicious dishes and reality. The reality is sad, but I hope people's lives will change for the better. There are a lot of colors, warmth, temperament, and this is great. And about what I loved the most: Malecon embankment and Cubanito cocktail n Havana! Trinidad is the city of charm. The Caribbean Sea, and definitely the lobsters!

Burning Man is the most extraordinary annual festival of radical personal expression with a distinct culture and philosophy. There is no money circulation at this festival, you cannot buy or sell anything. You can only exchange or just give. Burning Man takes place in the Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA. For a week, an entire city grows in the desert with streets and blocks, and with addresses in Black Rock City. In the center of Playa there are installations with the two most important objects being the Man himself and the Temple. The culmination of the holiday is on Saturday when the Man is set on fire and on Sunday when the Temple burned to the ground. The city residents leave and start preparation for the next Burning Man. It is very difficult to put into words shortly, it's better to take a look at the photos!

Cypresses in the swamps. Who among the landscape photographers wouldn't want to get to the cypress swamps, and especially in the fall and during fog. There are not that many natural habitats of such cypresses - only North America and just a few states: Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, Florida. I've been only to two states with such cypress trees - to Georgia and Florida. The beauty is incredible. You row in a canoe between trees in complete silence, and nothing but the splash of oars and the rare creak of old trees are breaking the silence.

Iceland was already familiar to me on this trip. See the album Iceland 2010. But I visited most of the places for the first time. The route was different, but I couldn't miss out on my favorite places from the first trip. Those are the Landmannalaugar Colored Mountains, the Jokulsarlon glacial Lagoon and the black sandy beaches of the Vik village. I was also lucky enough to fly on Cessna and see the beauty of Iceland from a bird's eye view!

Here are photos from the southern provinces of China. Some from Guilin and Yangshuo that are very famous places and often photographed and visited by tourists. Some from way less known and less visited places . Latter are the city of Fenghuang, Hunan province, a city remarkable for its unique wooden buildings along the main river of the city and Chengyang County, a real hinterland of China, where tourists rarely come. The famous Bridge of Wind and Rain is located here. And the locals asked us to take a picture with them.

The highest mountain lake in the world is located in Bolivia. The desire to go there matured for several years and came true in November 2018. At first, our group was acclimatizing in San Pedro de Atacama (Chile) at an average altitude at about 2500 m above sea level, while taking daily ascents to an altitude of 3600 m. And then we went to Bolivia, and I saw that very lake in Laguna Colorada (4270m altitude) with pink flamingos, alpacas and llamas. The largest and perfectly flat salt marsh Uyuni (Salar de Uyuni) with an island with huge cacti. There is a geothermal field with springs and geysers of Sol de Manana at 4800-5000m altitude. The highest point of filming was at 5160 m above sea level, but that was at the very end of the trip when the body already got accustomed to the thin air.

Moravia is the eastern region of the Czech Republic. Another place on our planet that is compared to Italian Tuscany. But, of course, Moravia is different. Both regions have hilly landscapes, but each is beautiful and unique on its own. Photographers love to come to Moravia in spring to see fruit trees in bloom or in autumn, when nature paints with bright colors. I was lucky, I made to Moravia in the off-season, i.e. the spring was late, the greenery was still scarce, and the trees were still not going to bloom. In the morning, at dawn, there was still a light frost, and a misty haze hung over the fields. The lands and fields of Moravia just woke up after winter, and gained strength from the first warm and sunny days, so that soon they would turn green, blooming and fragrant.

I like to shoot dunes and I also like to walk on them, although it is not always easy. When you are in the dunes, you feel like you are somewhere on the edge of the earth and at the same time in its center. This album features photographs of the dunes from several trips to the Death Valley at the US Southwest. You can see dunes from two locations: Mesquite Flat Dunes and Eureka Dunes. Look into them and meditate.

Waterfalls on Plitvice Lakes do not freeze over in winter that often, only once every 8-10 years. And it's even rarer to snow hard. That was tremendous luck for me and my fellow photographer in January 2017. I accidentally read a post on the Internet about frozen waterfalls on Plitvitsky, and three days later we were already there.

In fact, my every journey can be started with the words: It was an unforgettable trip! Yes, that is exactly what happened in Svalbard. Amazing and unforgettable. To find myself at the latitude of the Arctic Circle and above, to sail on an icebreaker in the Arctic Ocean on a summer polar day among icebergs - it's impossible to forget. To take pictures of walruses, seals, reindeer posing for me. And the blue whale, the largest animal on the planet, dived so close to our tent that it did not fit into the shot. But the polar bear was a rare beast - we only saw it a few times on our route. But the landscapes of the Arctic Ocean were up for the shoot all around the clock.

Before Namibia, I've only been to the north of the continent, where Africa looks more like Scheherazade's tales. And Namibia is as true Africa as it gets, just the way you imagine it from the books and TV programs you read. Unfortunately, I did not see all the diversity of the animal world in Namibia, but the beauty of the landscape was more than enough for me to fall in love with Namibia and admire the unusualness of everything I saw. The tallest red dunes in the world are in the Namib Desert along with the clay plateau of Sossusvlei and the Dead Vlei. And the most delicious oysters I ate were in the city of Luderets, located not far from the city of Kolmanskop, abandoned in the late 50s of the last century and covered with sand.

The stunning beaches of the Pacific coast of Oregon (Oregon Beaches) and Washington (Washington Beaches). With incredible ocean tides that expose the life of the underwater world. And fast tides, from which you barely manage to get away. A common thing on the ocean coasts, I guess. But here, among the beautiful and photogenic rocks, you forget about it and keep taking pictures till the very last moment when only the speed of your legs can save you.

Traveling in the Northwest United States we stopped for two days in a small region of Palouse in northeastern Washington State. Palouse attracts photographers like Tuscany in Italy does. Palouse is called American Tuscany. This region, despite the hilly area, is occupied with wheat cultivation; this is the region's specialization. And for photographers and their admirers, all that remains is to enjoy the beauty of this hilly region.

What I liked the most at Lake Baikal, were the ice and the ice road with road signs, and ice cracks, and the ice thickness, and its transparency, and the caves, and Olkhon island, just the way it is - with its locals and cottages and missing snow for some reason, but with frozen ground. The locals said that snow is getting blown away by wind. It was March, maybe there is snow in winter, but I didn't ask. We were lucky with the weather. It was a slight frost, - 8 at night and - 2 in the afternoon. I didn't get cold at all. And, of course, a mouth-watering treat made of the Baikal omul!

Before this trip to Patagonia I had never seen such unusual and so many lenticular clouds, and such a beautiful sky. And the wind in the early days were so strong that it was impossible to stay in one place, when we were in Argentina in El Chalten and Los Glaciares National Park and were filming Fitz Roy. Winds and incredibly beautiful clouds and landscapes with the Torres del Paine mountain range and the Lago Gray lake and the Gray glacier also awaited us in Chile, in Torres del Paine National Park.

Could I imagine while reading Jack London's books as a child and a teen, that one day I would find myself in Alaska? And though I visited in summer, and only been to two cities, Anchorage and Juneau, for just several hours, the spirit of that distant Alaska from childhood books was always present. Not far from Homer I photographed bald eagles, the symbol of America. In Katmai National Park, I hunted for a grizzly with the camera. And in the fjords in the Juneau region, I filmed beautiful foggy landscapes and blue whales. And even flew over the Alaska Cordillera Ridge close to the highest mountain in North America - Denali.

Iceland was the beginning of my landscape art period in photography. This country conquered and amazed me with its unusual beauty. Everything was for the first time for me: lava fields, volcanoes, colorful mountains, polar summer. And the waterfalls, the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland! The most important one is the Skogafoss waterfall. And the Eyjafjallajokull volcano erupted and the glaciers were gray with ash that year. Whoever manages to pronounce its name without hesitation at the first try gets a prize! :)
